Oil Level dipstick tube replacement.

Just Wondering if it's possible to replace the dipstick tube assemsbly without removing the oil pan? I think something mighta be goobered up when I had the oil pan replaced and it's hard to get the stick in and out to check the oil level.

Not a problem....on these cars, the dipstick tube hole is in the block above the pan. You can easily slip out the old one and put a different one in.

There are two dipsticks for these cars, you know....longer and shorter. You can always hunt down the shorter one, unless that's the one that's messed up. ;)

Nah, figured i'd just buy the FMS part and replace the whole shebang. Is it just a matter of getting it unbolted and pulling on it like hell? I remember trying to get the lil' bugger out to help with clearance issues, but to no avail.

Yes, unbolt, and sort of twist out as you're pulling up. There's really nothing that should be hung up, unless the tube rusts to the block or something. Maybe some WD40 where the tube goes into the block would help. BTW, it's much easier to see this and get to it from under the car, like you're doing an oil change.
