what year? I am guessing mid 80's? I have a 76 econoline with same engine/tranny.

the 4.9 soldiered on till 96, when it was phased out, for the new modular engines

the 4.9 is awsome. my 77 has a 4.9 soon to be fuel injected and turboed, with a 4 speed manual.
