Headlight question

Ok guys and girls quick question on headlights. All these parts interchange between the fox body cars. How close is a stangs headlights to the tbirds? I ran across a set of projector headlamp housings for an 87-93 stang.I know we've all had that problem with the yellowing lenses and lights not being very bright.
Ive also heard the changing the bulbs to the brighter white ones is really more for just looks then actual working status. So what I'm wondering is since the housings look similar in pictures how hard would it be to get them to fit ours without looking like some rigged up piece of junk?

They look similar, but theyre 100% different. We had a HUGE thread about it here a while ago.

If you have an '87-'88 Cougar, the lights will interchange with Lincoln Continentals, but I'm not 100% sure of the years of the Lincolns, so I'm not gonna say right now...anybody else?

But, today at the 'yard, I saw both lenses from a Town Car, they looked really close to an '87-'88, I'll check em out, unless someone else already has...

My question is what are the bumps (I think 3 of them) on the headlight lens for? I always thought they were for some sort of alignment device, but I dunno. I think I'll grind those off so when I buff the lens they won't snag the wool pad and get in the way. I used to keep them shiny clear with #3 buffing compound and the wool pad, but haven't for years since I don't drive it very often due to the work it needs and don't drive it in the winter.

Actually, when I was in high school, about 111 years ago, well, 11 really, in auto class, when we aimed headlights, that's what hose 3 tits were for, for the aimer to align to the headlight with...
But, they're not really necessary, I always align mine according to a flat gravel road...seems to work, and have never had a problem with blinding other drivers coming at me...

That makes sense. I haven't needed to adjust them in the nearly 15 years I've had the car so they should be ok. I just need to get rid of the haze.

ok so we need to get someone to custom make a projector lens for our cars and then find a bunch of people who want them so they will go into production.:D
I dont think modifying the housing would be hard to hold the bulbs. The lens would be the hard part since the new ones are clear. Using the lenses and combining would be alot of extra expense for something that might or might now work though
