My god is this not the fourth thread on this very subject this month?

I'm probably one of the only people here to actually try and do anything to my 3.8 and even I havn't researched a "chip".  Total waist of time and money.

Now my next mod to my 3.8 that will provide the best bang for the buck will be tearing that  out of there and hualing it away.
One 88

i am pretty sure superchips makes one for the 5.0, so after you yank that junky 3.8.. you can use one of those!!! hehehe

not sure really, might try browsing a stang forum, then tend to like to work on the 3.8, might find something there.

The problem is that the 3.8 are speed density. There is not a very effective way to tune a speed density car.

Get out of the "a chip will add power" mind set. The biggest impacts you will make to ANY engine is airflow. Headers back exhaust, cold air intake, some minor porting, and youll get a decent gain.
It's Gumby's fault.

:iagree:

Actual physical mods will make a much bigger difference than a "chip" will. The only time a chip really makes a difference is after you've done mods and the chip changes your air/fuel ratio to help the engine run better with those mods.
