Fiberglass Dash Cover?

My car like many others suffers from the infamous cracked dash syndrome.  It has a dash cover on it, but it is over 5 years old and showing signs of age.  I was thinking, would it be possible to lay fiberglass overtop of the dash?  Would there be any way to texture the surface once your done?  I don't know much about glassing but I know several people on this board do (at least when it comes to hoods and body panels).  Would that idea be feasible?

Is it a cloth overlay or a vinal dash top? I think those are your only options. If you try to glass it I don't think you could make it look like the factory dash. Besides the glass would probably crack and not stick to the dash very well.

It's one of the vinyl covers.  It looks alright, the fit is pretty good.  But the top has bubbled like it melted in the sun.  I know some people try to build entire dashboards out of fiberglass for custom car audio.  That's kind of where I got the idea, just not as drastic.  As for it looking stock, I'm not too concerned with that.  I figured go for something a little different, but try not to stand out too much or look rice.

That might look neat but to glass the dash you're probably going to have to take it out of the car. If you're going through all that trouble why not just put a uncracked dash in?
