Blower Motor No Worky.....

Like the title says, it done got broke.  The car is equipped with Automatic Temp. Control which when I self test it gives no error codes.  Fuses are good so I guess it's time to swap out the motor.  Before I swap it out I'm gonna ask.  Is there anything that would cause it not to work?

A short in the wiring, or maybe something came loose wiring wise at the motor itself?

The atc could be at fault if it isn't sending a signal to the blower moter to start. Does it do it in auto and manual mode?

There is a connector not far from the blower (orange-black)
If you give it 12volts then the blower will either go or not.
That would eliminate the speed regulator resistor and switch as part of the problem.
BobNorway;)
There are only two tools you will ever need:
1) WD40
2) Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

I thought there was a resistor in there but I was not sure.  Thanks I'll check that tomorrow (start of my weekend) and go from there.

Yeah if you jump the fan and it works then check the wiring. If that's good then you probibly have a problem with the ECC head unit.  I was at the wreaking yard about a month ago and there was an 86 Cougar and a 88 Turbo Coupe with ECC. I should have bought both units as spares for mine. Those things are hard to find.
