Yes, after nearly month I've got my Volvo back with its new engine. Unfortunately I only have it long enough to take the pics, as the new engine is leaking oil like a sonofaw (it appears to be coming from the turbo's oil lines). You can see the puddle under it in one of the pics. It's dropped a quart and a half of oil in the 700 km I've driven it since getting it back on Friday (I'm looking for a house or land to build a house on, so I'm driving a LOT lately). I'm developing a serious distaste for this car - hopefully after this engine is straightened out I'll have no more problems. Anyway, here are some pics before it goes back to the shop:

Silver cars are SATAN:evilgrin: I got rid of my first and last silver car lastnight, took my friend less than an hour to end up in the ditch, the second day I had it the hood opened up on the highway almost sending me in to a concrete divider... never again! (then again I said the same about white cars :rolleyes: )

Anyway hope thats the last of your problems with the car, atleast it looks purty :D

As do I. I can't help but thinking, however, that this car is going to really try your patience. You two just started out on the wrong foot together. Things do not bode well for this relationship.

Glad to see you finally got it back but sorry to see it still having problems. It really you off when you have problems with a car that looks so nice and is so new.
I must have missed something. Why did it take the dealer a month get it back to you? You payed for the entire car so you should have had top priority, right? I'm assuming customer satisfaction is not important to the dealer.

The problem was in finding an engine. Apparently the junk yards are not quite full of '00 AWD turbo Volvos, and it has to be an 00-01 engine (first two years vor Volvo VTEC, YO!). Then when they did fond one they had to do a bunch of stuff to it to make it eligible for warranty (new timing belt, new oil pump, etc)...

Regardless, I consider it all to be a bunch of excuses. I got it back again today (oil leak was loose banjo fitting on turbo oil line). Hopefully it won't have to go back again...

Don't many Volvos have the 5-4.25" bolt pattern?
Put some Cougar/Thunderbird or Mark VIII wheels on it!

I must say though, some of those Turbo volvo's are bad ass cars. just a pain to fix when something goes wrong.

They did, but in order to do so they had to meet certain criteria to have it paid for (and covered by) the warranty. It was required to have the same or less mileage, it had to pass compression/oil pressure tests, etc. I don't mind getting a used engine under those conditions - after all, the engine was used when I bought the car. If it were a new car it'd be a different story...

Cougarcragar: Yes, it does indeed share the MN12/DEW98 bolt pattern. I have already considered it :D

Glad to hear you got it back in working order. Now you need to name it. My buddy calls his the Boggan, short for toboggan I guess because when he was a little kid he had a slick little red toboggan that looked just like the car.

Offset may be an issue between the Volvo wheels and the MN12 wheels.
I have to use spacers on my LS wheels, but I imagine they may fit your Volvo with minimal problems.
Come to think of it, that car would look awesome with some Lincoln LS wheels on it.

(I'm basing this on nothing) :D
