h4 conversion.... Reply #1 – January 23, 2006, 06:20:53 PM Correct me if wrong, but I'm not sure if you can considering that the stock assemblies are (4"x6")?? and that theres not enough room sideways without maybe cutting up the headlight bezel and maybe the header aswell. Quote Selected

h4 conversion.... Reply #3 – January 23, 2006, 09:27:41 PM I was looking at an H4 conversion on the Tbird..but not with the projector type, just the std upgrades... I think those ones in the auction won't fit your car if they're 7x6...... Quote Selected
h4 conversion.... Reply #4 – January 23, 2006, 11:08:34 PM Stock size is 4"x6"...Some H4's require a little tpuppies of the back plate, behind the assembly. Otherwise they physically fit fine. You can reuse the stock trim rings too.Now H4's do require a little rewiring to operate properly. Sometimes the kit will come with a jumper wiring harness that you plug inbetween the stock harness and the new H4 bulbs. If you have those wiring adapters, use them. Otherwise you will have to repin your stock harness to accept H4's, in all 4 positions. Or you can add an aftermarket harness for about $40, which isolates the right from the left, has relays for safety, and pulls power directly from the battery. Believe it or not, APC makes a really nice harness (I'm using it in the '86). It basically plugs into one of your low-beam harnesses, after it's repinned of course, and uses it to power the high/low beam switching. This also allows one to use a higher-wattage bulb without the fear of melting any of the stock wiring. PM me if you need instructions. Quote Selected

h4 conversion.... Reply #6 – January 24, 2006, 08:38:31 PM I'm pretty sure he's saying that they wont work, but if you had an h4 with a 4x6 assembly that it would. Quote Selected
