Spaz, that's a really nice kit. One of the best I've seen. Too bad T-birds are too pointy for that valence to work.

I think this kit is the best of all three available kits.  From the looks of the picture on the site though, I'm not sure I like the side skirts, so I'd go with GST side skirts :)

then What is the point of one? I am sure they add more weight then they give you areo +++'s

Not that much weight. The aero benefits are negligible. It's all about the looks; always has been, always will be. These cars were among the first to totally adopt a clean aero look. The kits enhance that look, no more, no less, despite the "benefits" a manufacturer may list.

Since kits for our cars are now so rare, they are the ulitmate expression of what separates those that talk, from those that do. ;)

It's actually made for the bird, it had a point in the center, which i had filled in to look better. The side skirts I didn't put on I kept the old ones on which are the ones from mcK plastics kit.

Sorry about the size, I dunno if you can really see them in that but I don't have a bigger one and I'm too lazy to take off the cover to take a pic. I still have the new skirts though.

I wasn't a fan of them, thats why I didn't put them on. I have bascially a full gym in my garage and whenever I get off my lazy ass and workout I see them sitting there and they are starting to grow on me, but of course they look better in person.

So wait.  This is the kit off of JCWhitney?  Which would make it the Kobel kit right?  I really like that, and have actually been eyeballing it for a while as something that I would eventually get as more of a final piece to my car.  By the way Spaz, I love the color of your car too.

well...i understant the point of one is for the looks of it. thats fine. what i meant by putting one on for the sake of putting one on was, some guys will put somwthing on there car just too feel like they "modded there car. its like those erector set wings you see on the back of an otherwise stock 96 dodge neon....

spazes car looke prety great with that kit on...its not realy for me though. there is about only one kit out there that ive seen on a tbird that i would ever consider for my own car and its not available so id rather just go without instead of puting on some other kit just too have one.

im not against them, im actually pretty passive about them. but im usually very supprised when i see one that i like.

there is one undeniable fact about them. weather they are ugly or not they deffinetly set them cars aside from those that dont.

No its not from jcwhitney its the one from the site I posted but I actually got it from this site: http://www.aeromotive-inc.com/products.php?cat=3&reset=1&make=25&model=121&year=1988. The side skirts I have on the car are from the 1st kit, the kit on the cougar which is the mck plastics kit which i believe is the kobel kit, you can find it on coolcats too. I didn't want that kit again because of the 3 piece front and 3 piece rear. The rear which I forgot to mention came solid, I had to cut exhaust holes in it. Also I have to mention that if any of you do order from this site, they won't deliver it to residential addresses. I had to have it delivered to the body shop that painted the car, they however didn't install them. I don't know how wickedbodies works though, they might deliver it to your house. Thanks, I love the color too, everyone(who also hate on me for putting money into the car to begin with) told me that since I'm having it painted again get it painted black(they told me black the first time too) but I wanted to stick with the original color. It looks a lot different from the original though.

OK, I see now.  Awesome thanks man.  I actually kind of like the fact that you have to cut your own exhaust holes, there is a guy at my work who had to tweak the hell out of his exhaust to get it to look decent when he put on his new body kit.

Mck plastics still sells the kits, they r a little pricey when u consider u can get kits that blow these away as far as looks for eclipses and tuners for 1/2 the price--- i busted my front air dam too, anyone have one they wanna sell?

You bought the Tbird kit off of http://www.aeromotive-inc.com/products.php?cat=3&reset=1&make=25&model=121&year=1988 ? I love the kit you have. Would it fit an 86 with a little modification?? Your car is awesome, keep the color my 84 is the same color.

I love that kit on yours. I want to get one for my 87 V6 LX T-Bird but I'm not sure how well that would look. I was considering a black paint job with two yellow racing stripes on mine a friend gave me that idea whenever I can afford it. I just got a turbo coupe hood because i love the hood scoops but i'm having trouble getting it to fit on my bird even though it's the same year.

well my wheels won't be here til either the end of the week or next week and since we are getting a huge snowstorm soon and probably the rest of the winter, I probably won't put them on until spring. But here are some quick pics of the front and rear valance of that body kit. I got fog lights going in but haven't had a chance to them on yet. I wanted the gst kit but had to settle for this, but I'm happy with it.  Let me hear opinions.

I really like that rear valance.  Much better than the GST I have on my car.  I have never liked how the GST rear valance just attaches to the bottom edge of the rear bumper cover.  I bought it because it was the only fully complete kit I thought I could purchase brand new.  I like the rest of the GST kit though.

Yeah I bought the tbird kit from there but like I said if you buy it from them, they will only deliver to an automotive accessory place, they won't deliver to your house. Other places sell that kit including wickedbodies (first link I posted), that might deliver to your house. It's possible that it will fit your 86, its meant for an 87-88 bird but it's on my Cougar and you saw how it looks, so anything is possible.

Like I said, the kit is made for an 87-88 bird and it's on my cougar and u see how it looks on my cougar so, I'm sure it would look just as good if not better on ur bird. Black with yellow racing stripes sounds nice, post pics when you do it. I think silver or gray stripes would look better, but get faded stripes whatever color you do. I'm sure most other newer video games have them but I haven't really played many newer racing games cept for some racing game for xbox, well gta if you consider that one but anyways if you have ever played rush2 for n64 they allow you to change the color and add stripes and what not and faded stripes looks the best I can take pics for you if you want. Also I like the turbo hood but I want something like the ws6 ram air hood, something different, so until I find something like that or have it made, I'm gonna stay with the stock hood.

I really like the GST kit, that's the kit I wanted but unfortunately they went out of business. The kit that I got, the rear valance also attaches to the bottom of the bumper right underneath the molding, the only thing I don't like about the GST kit is the exhaust cutouts but I suppose you could modify them just as I had these ones modified, they came solid. I would like to do something with the headlights, something like you have. I think ur car looks awesome, but those lights really set it off. I of course would only attempt something similar with ur permission cuz I mean as of right now you are the only one with headlights like that, I mean I'm happy with the gts headlight covers but they only good durin the day, at night, not only do the normal headlights come out but you can't see shiznit with the covers on.

Yeah I played that game on my brothers n64. It will probably be a while before I can afford to paint it though because I don't have a job right now and I'm almost 17 I just got my car from a towing company for $200 and I had to fix the oil leak it had but other then that it runs fine and it just has a small dent but nothing major so I guess it was a pretty good deal.
