hey, at least its a ford truck :p

its a 79 f250 with a 351m. dam carbed truck never liked to start in the winter, and now its compleatly not starting at all (crank no start). im makeing sure its getting fuel, and when i tested for spark it came up negative. im told its got dura spark ign. but hey... im not to swift with these carb thing-a-ma-jigs... so any help would be greatly appriciated.  any tips on what to check after fuel and spark? and it does have new cap rotor wires and plugs. i do have a wireing diagram for the engin compartment.

Have you tried spraying some ether into the carb? How about checking to see if the starter is working right?

Is your coil working? Check to see if it is. If that isn't it you might need a new distributer. I don't know much about the dura spark II so I don't know if parts can be changed on it or not.

They fail almost as regularly as the dammed TFIs...

Make sure the dist is turning, those old Ms love to shear off the pin holding the gear on the dist shaft...

it is the single most common reason for the early ford electronic ignition to have a no start condition.

yeah I've tested many a duraspark box at autozone.  Dont just go to a junk yard and grab one.  There are like 4 diffenr't types.  The grommet were the wires goes in is a differn't color so at least its easy.
