No Speedometer!

Hey i was wondering if anyone would know any information about this? someone swapped a 350 Chevy and TH-400 Tranny in my 86 t-bird and i have no speedometer if anyone cold help me or give me any information about this i would appreciate it.

now,, this is where you come in ,,,

you gotta be specific so tell me,
do you have full digital or just the speedo
do you have all the dash lighting working properly
does the speedo light up green but no numbers display

just the speedo is digital
yeah the lighting works good
i have it where 0 is lit up on the speedo and it displays the miles and Trip so on.. just it stays at 0

ok easy problem but your gonna gave to pull and do a little research.

first part
go out and see if you find a cable undone located about where the tailshaft of the tranny "WAS",,
this would have hooked up to your speed sensor

second,, locate the speed sensor on your new tranny and wire it up to there.
you not going to have MPH function until this connector is fabricated up to the speedsensor on your new tranny.  Something tells me a chevy guru needs to be your buddy right now.

thats your problem,, get your existing speed sensor connector hooked up to where the speed sensor is on your chevy tranny.

HEY!

I'd have at least used a FORD I6, if I had gone through with my ideas.. :p

It might've been the one and only time I'd ever have considered using a turbo, too.


Time to drag Oldraven in here.. heh.

A Turbo 400 won't have a speed sensor.  They used a cable drive.  Might be an aftermarket company (Dakota Digital, etc.) that could fix you up with something that would work.
