Nice 'bird man.  Looks like its been well taken care of before you got it.  I wouldnt worry too much about those wheels.  They're not that bad and at least they're different.  Good luck with it.
'88 'bird, 10.9:1 306 w/TFS top end, forged rods/pistons, T-5 swap & bunch of other stuff, 1-family owned, had it since ‘98, 5.0tbrd88 on Instagram and YouTube

Dude I like the wheels too. They are old school man, I think they came out after the Deep Dish Hammers. The brand, are they Unique's? Been discontinued for years, I would hold onto them. Atleast you'll pretty much have the only TC with them. Both of my cougars that have chrome wheels on them to this day I have not seen another t-bird or cougar with the same wheel let alone anyone else with anything even close around town, I like it that way.

I was gonna say or Ultra but I couldnt for the life of me remember the name, they both made pretty much the same style wheel back in the day. I think the only difference was the center caps. What you said about the Welds is exactly what I was talking about, no offense to anyone but they arent even a good looking(strictly my own opinion) wheel and every one has them. The cobra wheels may be over done too but atleast its a great looking wheel...

People tell me that all the time (that they're overdone).  But I have yet to see anyone else around where I live with Cobra R's on a Cougar or T-bird.  And I only know of one Mustang.  But it does seem like if you go online to look at cars, look in a mag, or go to a car show you see a lot more.  I don't mind 'cause my car aint gonna be in a mag any time soon and won't see too many shows until its done (someday in the distant future).  Anyway my point is just go with whatever you like and to hell   w/everyone else.

Great point, and trust me I do love the Cobras on our cars and I totally agree with you. I have only seen one T-Bird over about a 7 year period in Toledo with the cobra wheels and trust me if I ever came acrossed a great deal on a set I would waste no time on puttin them on my 87 myself. But it would have to be a  good deal, im talkin like 200 for the set with good tires kinda deal :D

All I know is in five years, 17" Cobra R's are going to be extremely cheap and easy to find. :D

i would love to have a set of cobra's on mine... would really like the "black chrome" ones but over 1k for wheels and tires is a little steep for me

I have 10 holes on mine and a set of centerlines.
I also run the TC rims as well sometimes.
