HELP with odometer! September 19, 2005, 09:22:05 PM im swapping to the buttstuffog cluster, and i figured i would set the mile the same as my old.i took it apart, and rolled all the numbers to where they need to be. but now i can get the thing to roll freely. (acting as if the drive was spinning) it starts to roll, but then gets stuck.how do you position these little black rollers roght? Quote Selected
Re: HELP with odometer! Reply #1 – September 19, 2005, 09:38:13 PM I did the samething try pushing them to the right. They should lock into place and if I remeber correctly there should be a small spring that pushes them to the right.Hope this helps. Quote Selected
Re: HELP with odometer! Reply #2 – September 20, 2005, 09:18:04 AM ive tried prying between the "numbers" to get the little black gears spaced between, but nothing ive tried has worked. i know i have them in the same direction, i just can get them to line up right. Quote Selected
Re: HELP with odometer! Reply #3 – September 20, 2005, 09:15:00 PM ive outlined in the pic, which gears im having with. ive been trying all day, and still can not get them seated right.are you supposed to be able to roll the drive gear backwards, if they are installed correctly? the reason i ask, is that before i took the speedometer apart, all the gears rolled smoothly forward, but not backwards.
