oil dipstick tube question October 30, 2005, 01:58:09 AM can the oil tube that holds the dipstick hit anything in the inside of the engine to cause a kinda grinding noise? bc ever sice i got my tube and stick in today it started to make that noise. i pulled the stick nothing wrong no signs of anything hitting it. it almost sounds like it's brake related but it does it upon going forward around 1000 to 1800 rpms then goes away . mybe i'll check the drums bc i know they need attention Quote Selected

oil dipstick tube question Reply #2 – October 30, 2005, 07:11:56 AM Maybe the stick is loose and rattling around in the tube. Pull the stick, plug the hole with something else (or not), and see if the noise is still there. Quote Selected
