Pull the rear light cover panel out (the fiberglass carpeted panel),and remove the nuts holding each light in.Then you can remove the lights. Also remove your tag (liscence plate). The lenses will literally pull right off of the light housing.Mine were held together with a trim adhesive material.I polished my lenses, cleaned everything up and re-installed the light lenses with some trim adhesive and let them dry for a day. After they dried for the day,I put them back on the car and haven't had a problem since.I think a lot of us T-Bird ownwers have done this.Good luck.

Any type of sticky goop should work. Silicone, epoxy (really permanent), windshield sealer (really sticky)... etc.

The goop is basically just to keep water out. Officially the lenses are held on by springy toothed clips, that dig into plastic s on the two pieces. You may find the clips missing if the lens has fallen off before, and if they're still there you may have to reposition them or bend the tooth up, if the spot they were is all chewed up from pulling them off.
.
Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.
