5.0 HO swap

i dont know were to post this so i did it here .... i was wondering if just maybe  we could get this post or a diffrent one "stickyed" for just tipps and help with some of the problems that you ran into doing the HO swap because i am going to be doing the swap in the fall/winter and im doing all the studying on it i can right now and yes i have read the cool cats part on this or we could make this a whole FAQ thing .because  ive seen alot of the same questions over and over gain here (exhaust,the whole 8.8/5lug swap .etc) i sure theres alot more people that want thi info as well

if you wanna have at it. If we dont like it we will tell you. This would be more of a site seggestion I think.(me and my spelling)

i was woundering if anyone has the aproxament  total cost of there swap ? im planing around 1500-2000

for a brand new motor maybe. My freind is getting a new engine and tranny in his car and he is looking at about $2000

installed or do it your(him) self ? and im also figureing in an exhaust in to that mustang headers(stock for now) catco h-pipe with the cats (299.00) 2 summit singal chambers  (79.95 x 2) and sum stainless pipe about 4 feet ( no price yet) [ all in U.S dollars]  will singal chambers be really loud ?

i am starting to plan my next stepps  in starting this  swap  im planing to have my bird on the road and runing by  may 11 2006  I've been calling around to diffrent wreckers yards and they want way to much for a 89-93 5.0 HO with the computer the lowest price  i got was $2000(cdn) thats way to much and that motor had just under 200,000KM on it so the search continues

sorry I didnt notice that you responded. My freind paid about 1700 usd with all new parts and about 900 for install.

wow thats a good deal .  i may have found an other motor i called the guy and he said i get to whole car for $2000 . so im thinkin on doing the swap and sin the rest of the car or part out any thing thats good. i m heading over tommorw to have a look.
