Fuel Pump?

I have an 83 TC that was swapped with an 87 5.0HO by a previous owner.  I am in the process of building up this car, I am curious if there are any fuel pump kits that can be used with these?  Will the mustang 190LPH or 255LPH in tank fuel pumps fit and work with these cars?

Just buy the pump. A 155lph pump is good for something like 450hp. There's a pretty interesting video showing how bad big pumps cause airiation in the fuel.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Thanks haystack that sounds more than plenty for my needs!  I have to see how the previous owner ran this one, I think originally these had an in tank and external pump but looks like I only have one in the tank.

Does the Mustang hangers interchange?

So the CFI cars had an in tank "lift" pump that moved the fuel to a passenger side frame rail external fuel pump to bump the pressure up.  With the '87 5.0 HO motor swap the previous owner most likley deleted the external pump and replaced the in tank lift pump with a high pressure pump.

No, the Mustang in tank pump hanger will not interchange with the Bird/Cougar hanger, different tanks.

Also, I run a 255 lph pump on my Coupe and have for 17 years (been through two pumps) and have had zero problems.  Don't believe all the BS and hype on the internet.

When I ordered a 255lph fuel pump I accidentally ordered one for an accord. All I did was zip tie the sock to the pump and the pump to the hanger works pretty good

I'm in the process of rebuilding my car. I am replacing the fuel tank, pump, sending unit. I just bought a new hanger for the fuel pump instead of trying to use the old one. My car is a TC but has a 5.0 HO motor. The hanger is a Spectrum Premium FG35A, paid $85. It came with everything you will need except the pump. I used a Quantum 255lph pump. Used Vaseline on the pump to shove it into the supplied rubber mount and I used the stock fuel "sock". All you need to do is solder and shrink tube the two wires.
