what the hell happened

:disappoin so anyway i was driving back from a town a good 20 mins down the highway from mine and my car breaks down the town over from mine. i popped the hood checked oil and coolant which were ok but not great, but the engine would start but not kick over. i let the thing cool down and it started so i drove it right to the gas station. and they did a bunch of checks on it and told me that the ignition module was overheating. to me tho that didnt sound like it would cause the car to stall while i was driving. but i dont know alot any input?

It's a known problem with Fords, one that landed 'em in court. You need a new TFI module, and you need to move it to a cooler location (or so says the court settlement, which prescribed this repair)

take the car to the dealership, if i remember correctly, they are responsible for replacing your TFI module due to the lawsuit that Thunder Chicken mentioned
It's Gumby's fault.
