Side window wipe fix September 27, 2016, 01:54:35 PM My 86 T Bird had the side window wipes falling apart and I found what seems to be a solution if you have a little of the vertical rubber still there. It was a 2 step process. First, Remove the side mirrors, put the windows down, Then, clean whatever is left of your old wipes, then using 3/4" vinyl tape place the tape on the horizontal flat with a little left over which gets tucked under the rubber. Then I purchased T3802 U-Shaped door edge moldings at Pep Boys. (They are only 27" long so you have to piece them out to cover the length.) They come 2 in a pack so it takes 1 pack for each window. They do have a adhesive inside so be careful installing them on the vertical. I started at the rear of the window and worked towards the front. After they are in place squeeze them so that the adhesive will grab. Raise the windows, pressing down on the U-Moldings and let them sit for a day or so, giving them time to adhere. Hopefully this will last a long time. Time will tell! Herb Quote Selected
