Starting 5-lug swap

I got the spindles and axles out of a 95 Mustang last fall and I am finally starting the swap on my 85 Turbocoupe. (I have an 88 rear end.)

I ordered the Front Rotors for a 1990 Mazda MPV V6 3.0L, for my rear discs. They came in today and guess what? The rotor hat won't fit over the axle .

I don't think there is enough material to have either piece turned down to fit. Not sure any shop would do it anyway. What gives?

I also can't find any Mark VII rotors that aren't 10.5" instead of 10" even though the write-up in Coolcats says the 91 & 92 had them.

These things are suppose to work, but it seems I'm spending more good money after bad.

Any advice?

BTW the outside dimension of the  is the same as the outside dimension of the rotor hat.

No way it will ever fit on that axle.

?????

The write-up claims

"Or, you could do the ol' Mustang conversion trick: use 1990 Mazda MPV (V6, 3.0) front rotors, and 1/8" spacers. Place the spacers between the rotor hat
and axle  to put the rotor back into alignment with the stock Turbo Coupe caliper location."

I can't see how this will ever work, unless I got some messed up rotors.

I found my answer in another  old thread that stated that sometimes the axle s do have to be machined down.

Wish that was in the write-up, so as to prevent mental anguish on my part.

Hope this helps someone else.
