Look at my car and tell me She's beautiful! March 15, 2016, 11:35:43 PM For her 29th birthday (actually next month), I got up the courage to look into the driver's-side door and figure out why the glass fell down into the door...more than a year ago...Saw the unglued clip situation I have read about years ago. Trying some Golrilla Glue and hoping it holds for awhile! Quote Selected

Get us a bigger one! :DLooks like all you need is some compound and a little elbow grease and she'll be a show car! Can't beat the south for preserving sheetmetal... Quote Selected

Look at my car and tell me She's beautiful! Reply #5 – March 16, 2016, 06:51:59 PM The help section, usually doorman stuff has window tracks for ford/dodge and are about twice the size of the stock ford prices, giving ya twice the area for glue to hold onto. I used windshield adhesive and that stuff worked really well on one side. Its all in preparation. Clean the glass and scuff it up with sandpaper, then clean it again. I drilled small 1/4" holes in the clips to give the glue more room to adhere to and helped it dry quicker and it held for at least two years and quite a few miles. Also, clean and grease the windows tracks really well first. I used white lithium grease and it worked really well, and also lube up the window channels. The window will roll up twice as fast after. Quote Selected
Look at my car and tell me She's beautiful! Reply #6 – March 16, 2016, 09:12:19 PM Haystack - Thanks for the advice about greasing up the window tracks. I'm going to try to do that tomorrow. I think I'll just go with my stock clips for now, but will look for the doorman replacements, and maybe just add them to my parts inventory and have the peace of mind that they'll be waiting for me if needed in the future.ZondaC12 - I posted that pic straight from my phone. It's not as easy (for me) as on my home computer. Maybe I can try to upload some better pics later. After the polishing, of course! I used to have several good pics up a long time ago. Enough years ago that I don't even know if they were on this version of the site somewhere, or maybe the old one? Quote Selected
Look at my car and tell me She's beautiful! Reply #7 – March 17, 2016, 08:26:11 AM My car is officially 29 years old TODAY (yes, St. Patrick's Day......that explains a lot). I used aquarium silicone on mine. I tried the Gorilla glue along with other adhesives. The aquarium silicone has been the best so far. 6 years running..... Quote Selected
