302 Swapped TurboCoupe

I have a long history with this vehicle. This is my very first car when I turned 16 and bought it in 2006 and I've kept her since. Blew the first motor, put in another 2.3T and decided to go 5.0. I had also owned a 92 5.0 Coupe (black with black tweed interior, all power options except AC... Hot ride!) and missed the torque. This TBird in my opinion truly deserved a V8 and rather than send my car to the junk yard and look for an LX I decided to swap the car I had. I preferred the few TC differences anyways ;)

A few specs of the car:

1987 TurboCoupe imported to Vancouver British Columbia from Washington state in 2006
Factory color was silver, repainted dark charcoal grey in 2007
18" 4-lug Cobra R's
Running N/A stock High Output 302 block and internals from a 92 Mustang Coupe
Typhoon upper & lower intake
Ford Racing Polished Valve Covers
Holley 70mm TB + Spacer
BBK Headers
H Pipe & Flowmaster 40's
Custom Fitted Exhaust & Stingers Performance Stainless Tips
SR Performance Cold Air Intake
C&L 73mm Mass Air Housing
Stock 19lb Injectors
3G Alternator Upgrade
Smog Pump Delete Pulley
Underdrive Pulleys
Electric Fan
Ford Racing 8mm Wires
ABS Hydraulic Brake module delete, converted to vacuum assist
4.10 Gears
Tremec 3550 5 Speed Transmission
Weld-In Subframe Connectors
Extensive wire tucking

Overall I am so completely satisfied with how the car feels and acts now. What an incredible difference. Happy to say I will be keeping this car for the remainder of my life. There are still a few things to work out but I can truly enjoy it once again. I'm a little undecided on the paint color, I always wanted black which is why I chose to have it done in the charcoal grey (black too high maintenance) but I'm starting to love silver more and more these days, and wouldn't object to having the silver redone on this car as it came from the factory. I've had good help and researched a lot of info using these forums on many other things as well so thank you all.

The engine looks good how about the outside of the car? ;)

Niceeee!

Baring something larger, IMO the 5.0 swap is best thing you can do for a Turbo Coupe...

Very nice ride.  Glad to hear the hard work and money resulted in a car you love and plan to keep.

I can see the video. The car looks good. I just can't see pictures of anything but the engine :hick:.

I'll get some interior pictures up soon. Raven Leather in decent shape still. Saggy headliner getting redone this spring/summer, considered a unique custom material but might just do a black solid colour that won't ever become dated or something I might not enjoy another 10 years from now. My power seats have kaput just before I started the swap and didn't bother spending time to diagnose so that will be another little journey for me to involve myself with this summer :)

Here is current gauge setup. Oil pressure, battery volts (for checking fan is on etc) and my 5" Monster Tach (no shift light) I will remove the oem gauge cluster so that I can change the resistor out to calibrate properly for V8 at some point but I'm happy with the tach right now. There is also a hidden fuel pump kill switch somewhere in the car... :)

Other little thing I changed, bought a shift  from a SN95 Mustang GT the nice leather wrapped ones. Grey in colour, and bought a $20 black generic eBay leather shift boot for a foxbody mustang (just the raw sewn leather only) and although they aren't a 100% colour match, they are pretty unnoticeable and is 500 times nicer than what I was using before. Love the leather feel of the  and it's shape is unbelievable comfortable in my hand. The darker it is the harder it is to tell the colour difference.

I was wondering how you pass BC emission testing? I am in Edmonton Alberta.

Well the AirCare has actually turned their attention to Commercial Transport vehicles, passenger vehicles no longer are required to be tested before insuring. There were ways around it, but car enthusiasts don't have to worry about it anymore.
