My dads crown vic when i was a kid. He told me it was making funny noises and had me turn the wheel and drive around a parkinglot when i was about 12. He kept yelling at me to turn the wheel when i was. What's funny, we drove it home with the wheel just castering.

I've never had one break. I have bent a spindle, lost two of four lug nuts (and the remaining two backed out) and shattered a nylon wheel bearing.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
