oil pan gasket

Can I change the oil pan gasket on 93 thunderbird. 5.0 engine without pulling the engine all the way out. We thought the rear main was leaking. We pulled all the exhaust and removed the drive line to start dropping the tranny. Pulled the inspection plate off the tranny and it was bone dry around flex plate and torque converter. We are thinking its the oil pan gasket but there is not much clearance around the oil pan.
Let me know your thoughts.

Going to have to raise the engine to get the oil pan out. No other way.
