With vacuum, warm air comes up from around the exhaust manifold. With no vacuum it moves to let in outside air.The thing on the cleaner cover is a bi-metal temperature sensor that controls the vacuum to the snorkel valve.The tube to the oil filler cap supplies filtered air to the drivers side valve cover. This replaces the air sucked out of the passenger side valve cover through the PCV valve. Quote Selected
