Which fuel pump hanger assembly? July 09, 2005, 09:11:38 PM Hey guys, I ran into a dilemma. It looks like the pump in the 87 TC tank had been replaced at one time (it's not a Walbro). The pump assembly has several things about it that are different than the assembly I had layin' around out of an 88 TC.The biggest difference is the design of the fuel line feed on the hanger. The one in the 87 TC tank just has a short nipple on one end, where a rubber hose is used to connect it to the output on the pump. The one out of my parts car (88 TC) uses a plastic flow tube with some sort of hemi-spherical deal on the side. Which design should I use when I install the new 155 lph Summit Racing (Walbro) pump?Joe Quote Selected

Re: Which fuel pump hanger assembly? Reply #3 – July 18, 2005, 12:40:24 AM My '87 Sport had a large Bosh pump with the pressure relief valve on top, but I believe the hanger was identical to the TC piece. As far as which one to use, shouldn't make a difference. I'd go with the one in the best condition... Quote Selected
Re: Which fuel pump hanger assembly? Reply #4 – July 18, 2005, 01:36:54 PM When I bought just the empty hanger FG35A from Rock Auto, its instructions referred to "if the (old) unit has a pulsator" transfer it to the new assembly. Maybe thats what that thing is? Quote Selected
Re: Which fuel pump hanger assembly? Reply #5 – July 18, 2005, 03:17:38 PM i think what it is, is a pulse dampener, which the turbo coupes have one on the rail, i wouldnt worry about it Quote Selected
