Hello All, My build progress starts.

Standard 5.0 (from 1988 Thunderbird):
155 horsepower,
14 pound injectors, Standard Upper intake, restrictive E6 heads, "SO" cam, flat pistons.
HO 5.0 (from '88 Mustang)
225 horse/300 torque
19 pound injectors, HO intake, E7 "truck heads", HO cam, dished pistons, tubular "headers", dual exhaust. Also the EEC was programmed to let the engine work a little better, too.
I'd not start with anything less than an HO block, and cam. Throw on GT40 heads from '97 Explorer, use the intakes from same, do the throttle body mod, swap to mass air, some good headers, and if you wanted to go beyond an HO cam, now is the time for that too.
Of course since your car has the CFI as opposed to the SEFI of the Mustang and '88 Tbird, you'll need to swap some wiring. Look for an '86 Tbird engine harness, as it will most properly mate with your car's body harness.
Once you have the engine sorted out, you'll probably want to upgrade the AOD, epoxy mod, higher stall TC, and some better gears out back.
That's just to get ya droolin'. Good luck. :)
