Do V6s run cooler than V8s?

I swear, the temp gauge in my 85 was about right in the middle once warmed up, but on this 86, it is barely on the N.
Current: 1986 Thunderbird, 105k 3.8/C5, 2 tone  Midnight Wine/Medium Taupe, wing windows, wire wheel covers.

Former: 1985 Cougar GS 115k Oxford White/Regatta Blue, 5.0, full console, 14" 8 hole aluminum T-Bird rims, Edelbrock valve covers.

I wouldnt trust our 25+ year old electronic gauges to read the same from car to car....way to many variables.  Everything being equal.  I would suspect the 3.8 with aluminum heads and the less power the engine creates toto produce less heat.

Irrelevant.  Both engines manage their temp the same way AND to the same temp.

A 195 degree thermostat (stock).

So, no they do not run cooler, your gauge is broken.
