Questions about TC Front Clip & Hood.

Got a question for those who have done the front clip and hood swap on their LX. My car is a 87 medium shadow blue LX that I am considering swapping the front clip and hood from my Turbocoupe parts car...just for the look. But I'm putting a 427w into the LX, which is set up for future turbos, and that means an intercooler in front of the AC condenser. My question, has anyone experience any cooling issues with removing the grill and replacing it with the solid TC nose clip?

A factor affecting my decision is that it appears that the TC hood scoops will smack the TFS plenum on the Windsor, since my LX hood will barely fit as it is, so I'm now inclined to keep the LX as an LX. BTW, I do have a complete Turbocoupe, barely running, that I bought for the purpose of being a parts car, but now I'm inclined to sell it for someone who wants a restore project.

The intake manifold should clear the TC hood scoops because it will sit way back from them. 

I run a 302 with the TFS intake for it and in between the upper and lower I have 1 3/8" of phenolic spacer (needed that much to clear the valve covers I went with).  I'm guessing the height with the spacers would be equivalent to no spacers on a 351 block.  Probably 5-6 inches of clearance between the front of the manifold and the back of the TC scoops.

The block itself is taller than a 302 block.  How much I have no idea.  Suffice to say You'd be close to the roof even with a stock hood and no spacer.

The new motor is about 2.5" taller than the HO its replacing, measuring from the water pump shaft with no spacer. Its going to come close to touching the hood rib, but Chuck's mounts will drop it some.

Tight.  Highest point on my motor is the fitting on top of the throttle body that comes from the line on the oil fill tube on the valve cover.  Had to bend it down a smidge to clear.....
