What's all that brown flaky stuff? I think Jerry called it "rust"........



And I have those mounts on my car as well. Love 'em. I think mine are black...pretty sure. I really can't remember.

I was thinking about those shock adapters all weekend and today i pulled an 8.8 out to look at it closely. It is from a 1988 tc. The original brackets are bolted to the axle and they have a locating tang. So with that i removed the shock bracket moved it up the proper amount drilled new holes and presto the stock bracket works perfectly with the shorter Mustang shocks. So if you desire to run a shorter shock the stock bracket can be used by either turning it over and drilling new holes or just moving it up and drilling new holes. Have a great evening guys

I like the ChuckW pieces better. Yes, to every part (or store, or mechanic, or cooking or whatever) there's usually another way to do it., But Chuck's parts have been more then great, and, high quality. I like not having to drill more holes too. Each to their own as far as how they want to do it. I like the simple "remove and replace" method.

Actually there is a hole already drilled there. All you have to do is enlarge it. Hay it seems like chick is not making them any more and my way is another option. It bothered me all weekend because i am so familiar with that suspension. Actually i had to move those brackets in-board to mount my new larger calipers in the rear. They hit the shock and that is why i came up with the additional option. As Jay would say OPTIONS OPTIONS!! Have a good Wednesday guys

I flipped my stock brackets and they are still just a little too long.  I get a full shock extension "clunk" once in awhile.  If I lowered my rear end a little more it would prob be ok.

I plan on lowering it a little more anyway, see how it goes then.  I have the stock rear springs and I cut about 1/2 a coil off.  It still sits pretty raked with rear higher.  I was going to buy some new SN95 convertible rear springs and slap them in, should be about right, I hope.....

Mustang shocks are about 3" shorter than the TBird ones at full droop.

I have a set of those springs laying around. Now I can wait and see how the book on your car :-)

Megasquirt 2 with 36lbs injectors on hurricane intake with 4150 throttle body.Tremec TKO 600 Quicktime blowsheild spec stage 3 clutch. 3.73 gears and still not done
