Adapting TC hood scoops for a 5.0 cold air?

Has anyone attempted to adapt an 88 TC hood to a 5.0 using the scoops as the source of cold air?  Or using the TC stock intercooler to cool the air into a cold air intake?

It's really going to be an issue. The scoops open up right where the distributor is. Grab a ram air kit for a Fox body 5.0 Stang. It bolts on in the inner fender where the air silencer goes and has a tube and air inlet scoop that mounts under the nose. With the TC scoops, you'll have to make sure you can separate the water during rain and other debris from the filter. Plus, really not much room at all to work with (as I stated). Anything is possible, but with a 5.0, tough job ahead.

my son and i are currently grafting together the ford bronco 351 air inlet (flat) into the trottle body,, right now its not cut or fab'd but we can see how it can be done wtih using TC under the hood duct.
the problems are vast and i am not confident we will crack this code but it is a fun adventure.

I'm fairly confident that the scoops on the tc were designed to create a vacuum, suck air out, doesn't sound like the type of thing you want for a cold air intake.

suck air out?  Not sure i see how that would work.  Jcassity, good luck on your project.  Thank you Vinnie for the advice,  maybe i'll just block them and look cool.  Or maybe buy a scoop for my 5.0 hood.

Ever notice how there is never any debris setting on the factory intercooler? I would think that if air was forced through there would eventually be a build up of bugs, leaves, and so forth.

I'm on my mobile but there is an article on NATO where they talked to one of the engineers that helped design the tc.
