245 45 17 tires

hey everyone i have a 87 cougar xr7 i need new tires.  i want to get a little bigger ones.  i was thinking about a 245 45 17 has anybody done this before.  or does anybody know if they will fit. thanks

yes, they'll fit, although they'll be slightly bigger in diameter then the original tires.

The extra shocks for the quad shocks should clear.

i got a 88 tc/ i got 245.45.17... i had one problem on the front but thats only because the car is lowerd, pushed in the lip of the fender and i have had no clearence problems since.

I ahd to do the same thing when I went to the 245/50/16's, I had to massage the lip on the finder with a hammer. I missed a few times :brick:
