Digital Clock

I was wondering if any of you have had a problem seeing your clock during day light hours because it is way too dim? In fact, I can barely see it at night. Is there any way to brighten it up? Thanks!

i do have one on my work bench,

check page 166 out on my 87 evtm , its only a 4wire connector.

you do have two fuses though, and its possible one may be blown

i can take mine and open it up if you do the same and call me (see diy link) and we can troubleshoot together.
may be something else going on in your clock.

evtm doesnt show light bulbs or interior lighting diagrams so it may exist, but the evtm doest illustrate it.

Sounds great! I also have mine ready for surgery. Mine is also a 4 wire. So, I figure one fuse is in the fuse box, where is the other? I want to check them both first. Thanks!

Sure helps when I enlarge the schematic and get my glasses! Looks like both are in the fuse panel #24 and #27, I will need to see what I can find. Jcassity, I will call you as soon as I get a chance. Please pm me you number again.Thanks!

sorry for the bad scan,  but yeah check both fuses first,, if not a fuse then its something internal.

he's gonna find out whats happinging inside the clock.

this thing gets power from three different places, hopefully there is a bulb that illuminates with no headlamps on, that would likely solve the issue.

I have A LOT of spare clocks that have no brackets.  If anybody needs one to replace the electronics in their clock they can have one for free, just pay shipping.

There is no light bulb in the digital clock ;)

i wonder why it has a Marker/park lamp power input.  total it has 3 power inputs and a ground

1. Constant power to keep the time memory.
2. Power with key-on/accy to turn on the display.
3. Power from running light circuit to "dim" the display at night.

I haven't had a chance to do any diagnostics on my clock. My cousin just went to the hospital with a small tear in her brain that's causing her to have seizures. It took them four days but they finally go them to stop by putting her into an induced coma. So, back to the issue... I will have to wait till later on this week, but first thing I will do is make sure I have power going to all three wires with my volt meter, check fused #6 and #8 again to see if they are still good if I don't. Should be an easy fix, and it sounds like I have no reason to open the clock. Thanks!
