If that's an a/c line, it should be aluminum, and I'd think it could SLOWLY be bent forward to clear.

the factory lines were steel

Is there a specific custom shop online I should go to to make sure the fittings will work with my A/C unit? Nothing has ever gone right with this car so I really dont want to order a custom part and have it come in but not work... (It has happened in the past)

Pull the line, bring it into any local hose and rubber store/shop.

When I worked on the bosses custom stuff we did this all the time. making one from scratch was cheaper most of the time then modding an existing line. you might be able to get away with a 90 or 45° adapter.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.
