Unless you have the factory anti-theft system, I don't think you have a relay. Ford systems are "positive trigger"; power goes to the switches, then the light, then ground. GM, Chrysler, etc use "negative trigger"; power to the light, grounded by the door pin switches.

In my installation book (from 9 years ago) I made some cryptic little notes about cutting a black/lightblue wire in the right kick panel (I think it runs up the forward pillar to the roof), hooking the ends to an aftermarket relay, and adding some other wiring to let the negative-trigger alarm wire control the positive-trigger dome, while still allowing normal door = light operation.
Death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.

Thanks MB, that makes sense that I don't have one cause I looked for it for like an hour.. and couldn't find anything. I will do it with the aftermarket relay like you meantioned...

Thanks :)

Where'd you get the installation instructions? I downloaded the SR6000 Owner's Guide, and all it says is Due to the complexity of this system, it must be installed by an authorized dealer only. Installation of this product by anyone other than an authorized dealer voids the warranty.

I'll assume it uses the same type of dome control and door-open sensor input as mine.

Here's how mine is wired:

Cut just the wire going up the pillar to the dome, power side to 87a, dome to 30. That way the dome still gets power through the normally-closed 87a/30 when the door is opened. The other courtesy lights splice in here, there and everywhere, so I'd ignore them.

Find any always-on 12V source, hook to 87(no a) and 85.

Connect your alarm dome control to 86.

Connect your positive pin-switch input wire (if you have one) to 87a as well, so the alarm knows when a door has been opened.

Diagram? Of course.
