header clearence problems

i bought a aftermarket steering shaft from flaming river so it would clear my bbk shorty headers for the 351w swap in a fox body mustang. i tried putting the new shaft on and it made the rubbing worse my car doesnt even turn now. i have the rack and pinion from the v6 models (apeerently its different) but i have v8 model sport coupe does anyone know if i buy the v8 rack will it move the shaft position. and allow more clearence?

AFAIK the only difference between a V6 and a V8 rack is the ratio. You might have to tweak a header pipe or two to clear the shaft

Yeah, no difference in the outside dimensions of the racks, 3.8 vs. 5.0....

Did you use the Fox Windsor swap headers? Might need to make some "adjustments" with a BFH...?

It's the shorties,  the long tubes fit fine with that shaft and block
