TurboCoupe shuting off Help

Hey guys Im having trouble with the TC. It was working fine in the morning but then few hours later it was malfunctioning and shutting off. The car kept shutting off until it would no longer keep running, so we checked the fuel filter and it was not clogged. We banged the converter to see if it was clogged and it was so it started for a bit but kept shuting off still, I removed the converter and it runs for a while but the idle speed is   also when trrying to drive it it backfires trough the exhaust and shuts off. What can be the problem and how can I fix it thanks guys lmk.

start with the egr, then check the fuel pres,, then the tps voltage on the green wire to ground and the green wire to the black(they should pretty much match).
next id see if the spark from the coil and then up to a plug wire is nice an blue.

after all that,, id pull vac lines one for one and plug the far end and put suction on the other to see if there is a break.

somewhere in the mix, try to pull codes with koeo.

Backfiring is almost an iginition/timing problem. First off I'd check the timing as the 2.3s are pr0ne to jump the belt. If thats not the problem, I'd suspect the TFI module or maybe the pickup inside the dist.

Again it would be a good idea to scan it for codes. Won't tell you if the belt has jumped, but would point out an erratic iginition problem.

yes, pull codes

code 14 is TFI/PIP
It's Gumby's fault.

that shouldnt cause it to stall out, try disconnecting it to see if that helps with the problem, if it helps, replace the O2

did you pull codes?
It's Gumby's fault.

Hey guys I replaced the tps and that was not it so I changed the TFI and I think that solved the problem but the check engine light is on can that be because it has no exhaust and the o2 sensor is no longer reading? Also man that free flowing exhaust really helped the engine it gets the tires loose like at 35mph. thanks guys lmk
