AC Temp Blinking (Blowing warm) October 16, 2012, 06:13:30 PM Hey Fellas, I have an 87 TC with electronic temperature control head. I ran the self diagnostics and it came up with the code 88 which is no fault found. Never seen the temp number flash before. Not sure if its an AC or electrical issue. Anybody seen this before. AC Temp Blinking (Blowing warm) Reply #1 – October 17, 2012, 09:16:05 PM yes, and it suddenly stopped doing it.on the dash trim around the center at the top, there is a square opening.this gives you access to a temp sensor for inside the cabin. clean it off ,, that may be one issue.lots of people dont even know its there but its how the climate control knows how to "control" Quote Selected
AC Temp Blinking (Blowing warm) Reply #2 – October 17, 2012, 11:01:58 PM That would be the cabin temp sensor, and it's probably dusty, but it's not likely to be the problem. You had better check that your radiator fan is running when the AC is on. Sounds like you've got a hot condenser. hose it down while the ac is running, does the AC get cooler? If yes, then drive it, while the car is moving at more than 40mph, is the ac cooler? Check that cooling fan, not only should it run when the engine is hot, it should run whenever the Air is on. AC Temp Blinking (Blowing warm) Reply #3 – November 03, 2012, 12:08:16 PM I have the 5.0 swap so the one fan is controlled by the mechanical controller whose proper name escapes me. I'll try spraying the condenser to troubleshoot. I actually knew about the cabin temp sensor but didn't think to blow it out/clean. Thought it either worked or didn't. When I change the selected temp I can hear (what i think is the blend door) adjusting for the setting. Lately the problem has been intermittent but is steadily becoming more frequent. If its electrical I won't bother taking it to an AC guy since they won't want to deal with the elect components. Thanks Quote Selected
