83 tb eec wiring question

My 83 tb (v8 car)project does not have the computer in the passenger side kick panel or a harness going into the firewall from there.  My question is i am going back with a carb motor, do I need this to run the fuel pump from the tank or anything else?  If so, what all is that harness hooking up too? Would this effect me running the A/C?

I think I should have but ECU, right?

Does TB stand for Turbo Coupe?
Yes the EEC controlled the fuel pumps.
No the EEC is not involved with the A/C.
You should have two fuel pumps. A low pressure pump in the tank. A high pressure pump just forward of the right rear wheel next to the filter.

No it stands for thunderbird, it is a v8 car, not motor or tranny was in car when I got it.  Could I just do a toggle switch for fuel pump like race cars?  That way I don't have to find EEC and harness.

Read that the wire to the fuel pump in the harness under the seat going to the back, tap into it there with a ignition hot wire and should be good, or put a toggle switch on it.

83 5.0 were EEC III.
I only have EEC IV diagrams.
You can find an 83 T-Bird EVTM on e-bay. This will give you the wiring diagrams.

I found an EEC III diagram that is not T-Bird specific.
You have a Power Relay that is picked by the ignition switch.
The Power Relay supplies the voltage to pick the fuel pump relay and the ballast bypass relay.
The EEC supplies the ground to pick the fuel pump relay. This is a Tan/Light Green Dot wire that went to eec pin 11. You will need to ground this wire to pick the fuel pump relay. I suspect there is a connector somewhere near the EEC with this wire in it.

The fuel pump gets full battery power through the N/C contacts of the ballast bypass relay while cranking. With the engine running, a vacuum switch provides the ground to pick the ballast bypass relay. With the relay picked the fuel pump power goes through a 1.3 ohm resister to reduce the pump voltage while the engine is running.

I think the wire labled "to A/C clutch" from pin 31 is to signal the EEC that the A/C is on so it can bump up the idle.

Thanks I saved that, it will help me out.  I wonder whey they drop voltage down while running?  If I hard wired with my on relay to come on with a toggle and I am going to run a FPR with that matter with a carb engine?
