my car DOA on side of road too!

88 TC auto.  dies today like someone turned off a switch, no spit no sputter, no hint of a restart whatsoever, just cranks. i changed the timing belt about 2k ago and its been fine. after i check spark , fuel, yada yada, i reluctantly checked the timing, well i'll be ed it jumped about four teeth.  i just put it back together, and i snugged the tensioner a little more that just the spring tension. it still doesnt seem to run good like it did. any thoughts or anyone have this happen?

yes, i actually had the dist timing off a tooth the first time i put it together, it would barely idle. I am positive its correct now, it actually has never idled so good, but now the turbo seems funny , i cant explain it. boost gauge acting funny too.

I've replaced two timing belts that were less than a year old on two separate TCs in the last 6 months (that was a mouth full lol). One jumped just slipped off the other snapped in half...  Idk I'm getting good at replacing them though lol

For your running issue did you happen to forget to unplug the spout when you set the timing.

Look at the bottom of this page at letter "H".
