sn95 springs and thundercat struts September 05, 2012, 05:57:16 AM I know this has been beaten to death like a pinata full of crack cocaine but I am wondering if people are still using their shocks and struts that are specific to our cars when converting to sn95 springs? The car is an 88 XR-7I am looking at getting some used sn95 springs to lower my car a little. I still have good struts in the front and free new Gabriel replacement shocks in the back. The quad shocks were replaced 20k miles ago. What I was reading from past posts was the stock shocks and struts bottoming out when using ANY Mustang springs. Am I understanding this correct?I guess I am a little confused and undecided on what to do. I thought about getting Moog replacements specific to my car but I would like it lowered a little and still ride nice without too much alterations. The objective is I am rebuilding the entire front end (besides the K member and steering rack), going with 11" spindles and rotors and want it to be done right the first time.Thank you!Tim Quote Selected
sn95 springs and thundercat struts Reply #1 – September 05, 2012, 07:03:22 AM I'm using my stock struts with the SN-95 springs. Same with the shocks (I use air shocks), and have had no issues at all. Quote Selected
sn95 springs and thundercat struts Reply #2 – September 05, 2012, 03:32:29 PM No issues with mine, either. I've '97 GT springs, Tbird struts, and Fox shocks in the rear with Chuck W's adapter (otherwise, use rear shocks for a Tbird, Fox Stang shocks are a bit shorter, hence using Chuck's adaptor.)
