Don't know.. but one observation:

Motorcraft oil filters are supposedly made by Purolator.. so I don't see it being a stretch that those crankcase breather filters would also be made by Purolator. That looks identical to mine, and I picked up a Purolator. (of course, how different could they look?)

Point is.. in cases where it's easier for someone to go to a parts store that has the Purolator in stock vs. going to a dealer or another store for the Motorcraft version, maybe they should consider just getting the Purolator. Part #B15231. ("To Reorder, Specify B15231M", just to list everything it says on here.. did not get a good picture of it)

Well I only paid like 5.90 plus tax for the motorcraft one from ford, and since the dealer is right down the street I figured why not just get it from the source. As for checking the retail chains, I can't say i've ever seen that part in my searches. I also bought the motorcraft pcv valve while I was at it, and I can say that there is a significant difference between it and the purolator part. I'm really curious to know how much  not having things plugged in right could caused (i.e.: oil all over, bad idle etc. etc.)
