Cam and firing order Reply #15 – September 07, 2012, 06:45:39 PM I had an explorer cam sitting around, too. I chucked it out in s last week or week before. There are lots of HO cams floating around the board, run one of those, you should get a decent power bump. Quote Selected

He is beyond the age, according to him, when souping up a car or truck trips his trigger. He is doing good, as it is, to keep her between the ditches. :hick:From what I have been reading, the Ford part number that I am looking for is F4TE-6250-BA and has the following for specs:1996-2001 Explorer (F4TE-6250-BA)256 / 266186 / 1970.422 / 0.448116 Here are a few others worth mentioning if someone is looking to upgrade:1989-1995 Mustang (E8ZE-6250-CA / F1ZE-6250-AA)276 / 266214 / 2100.444 / 0.4441151993-1995 Cobra (F3ZE-6250-CA)270 / 270212 / 2120.451 / 0.451118 Quote Selected
Cam and firing order Reply #18 – September 08, 2012, 01:34:52 PM Keep in mind the Cobra had 1.7:1 ratio rockers as opposed to the 1.6 on the others shown above.... Quote Selected

Cam and firing order Reply #21 – September 09, 2012, 06:09:35 PM My 1977 two cylinder Gravely tractor has a "waste spark" system but I never heard that term before. It has two high voltage wires, one from each end of the secondary coil. There is no connection to ground at the coil end for the secondary coil. The plugs are in series. Disconnect one plug and neither will fire. Quote Selected
Cam and firing order Reply #22 – September 10, 2012, 02:51:59 PM Does anyone know where the ford part number for a cam is located? The reason that I asked is that Dad doesn't want to pull the cam completely out just to check the part number, unless there is simply no other way. Since this whole thing started he has spent over $700 in gasket sets alone. Thanks! Quote Selected
