Some of those had to be in great shape when parked.  Hell some were probably still savable even with tree's growing up through them.

Were those all in the same area?  Looks like similar terrain.

One junk yard around here has a whole wall, about 1/2 mile long, stacked about 6 cars high of all 1960's-70's cars. They won't sell any parts off them. They are growing together with trees and shrubbery so much that you can't make out many models anymore (that and most of the emblems have been stolen over the years).
