Turbocoupe vs. GNX

Tom, you'd love to see the GNX a local GM dealer has. It is in his sealed, climate-controlled basp00get and has never been titled. It is quite literally as the day it rolled off the assembly line, including still being covered in all the plastic that is normally removed during PDI. Technically, since it has never been titled, were he to sell it today it would still have factory warranty. He keeps it in his basp00get and only a privileged few have ever laid eyes on it. Among those few are his employees, and as I worked for him for a few months I was given a peek. If it were possible to have shag with a car I'd have done so then and there, and wouldn't care who was watching. The saddest thing is that the dealer isn't even a car guy, he's just a business man and put the car away as an investment because it was so limited production (you think a GNX is rare, imagine how rare a GNX is with factory metric gauges - Canada typically gets about 10% of US production). Sigh... what a waste of a GNX...

Nice Typhoon, BTW. I've always loved the SyTy...

And sadly, yes, the GN would suck a stock TC up one tailpipe and blow it out the other. It's sad that GM didn't let the Camaro get in the way of fast G-bodies the way Ford did with the Mustang Vs T-Bird (sad for Ford guys, I mean - for GM guys it's great). It would have been interesting had Ford put the SC 3.8 into production Fox bodies... or better yet, the twice-turbo'd 3.8 they were working on way back when. I have pic of the prototype engine  and a small article about it around here somewhere -  it was said to produce over 300 horses, not bad for the 80's. It probably didn't make production because it almost certainly would have had reliability issues...

WOW A GNX with a 100% no mileage odometer. That is something else. That car is worth big dollars. But dont fret the new FORD engine has 100 more wheel HP than the VETTE. So Ford is doing real wonders after all. Thanks for telling this story it is amazing to actually think a ZERO mileage GNX is somewhere in a BAsp00geT. Totally awsum and thank you for sharing this with us THUNDER. Simply amazing!!

Nifty cars but they never really blew my skirt up enough to seek one out. I prefer the tbirds/tcoupes much better. Money and value asside, I'd rather a showroom zero mile never titled 88 turbo coupe in a favorable color combo and stick over any of those ^^^

No, You are correct on the matter. I respect them, I just do not prefer them. Those Buick's are faster and likely out handle a turbo coupe. Great cars. Turbo coupe has always had more class though. If you don't understand that I don't know what to tell you. If all you are worried about is who's faster, handles better or what not, get yourself a Hyabusa. Also, mid 13 second cars are NOT nasty fast. Maybe back in the 80s sure but certainly not by today's standards. If you're not running in the 10s or better you're not raising eyebrows.
