Sn95 axles, Ranger rear drums?

I've searched, but couldn't find anything with this setup.

For cost reasons, I'm curious if I can use axles from a '97 Stang, drums and backing plates and hardware from a Ranger?

I can't seem to find any info on this combo, so I'm not too sure the axle length with will even correspond with the Ranger's drum height and hub diameter in the first place.

I don't want to run Ranger axles and have a decrease in rear track width...of course, I do plan to buy new wheels eventually...could always get them with less offset.

Some rangers came with 10" drums, so you might not need the backing plates. I wouldnt want to put the smaller 9" ranger brakes on. The 9" drums had fins and the 10" didnt, it an EZ way to tell the difference.

I am assuming that the '88 Sports came with 10" rear drums? If so just go to the parts store and get a drum for your current application and one for the Ranger with a 10" rear drum (they did come with 10" rears but I cannot remember what years). Measure them up and see what comes of it.

Easy thing to do is just switch over to rear disc and be done with it. If you work up a parts list of what you would need and take your time you can salvage yard/new parts it for a lot less than you think.
