Baseboard heating is more efficient.. and cheaper in the long run.... you could also look into a wood fired boiler, as an aux heating source... My neighbor has one... his gas bill is usually the min of about $35 every month

but I see it's electric heat... I would still look into a multi source boiler as a heat option

If I do any wood heating at all it'll be with a pellet stove. I've had enough of handling firewood to last me a long, long time...

Nice score!  Hardwood floors are a bonus in my book.  Especially if you plan on pets and children.  Much easier to keep clean.

Congrats! We just bought one too, though much smaller at 1274 sqft, but it's a "green" home so its super energy efficient and is on very pretty property on top a hill in the 'burbs near the interstate with a great view. Our closing date was set at March 31st but we aren't going to make it in time since USDA/FAHE and everyone else got wrapped up and busy with this whole tornado mess here (it wiped out an entire town, my wife's hometown, it's completely gone..). Hopefully we get moved in before end of May.. otherwise we are gonna be homeless for a bit! Gotta be outta here before June, and we have nowhere else to go now thanks to the tornadoes.
