Cougar LS Turbo psi question.. January 24, 2012, 10:38:08 PM So I FINALLY have started my Cougar build. Swapping all the essentials of my 87 Turbo coupe into my 88 LS body. The engine needs an overhaul which Ill be doing. My bud asked me a question.. whats the most PSI the standard (smaller) turbo on my 87 can handle? We have a new one in the box so I can save some moola but using it and not buying or upgrading.. Thanx, any other ideas... shoot me a message!! Quote Selected

Cougar LS Turbo psi question.. Reply #6 – February 21, 2012, 10:58:45 PM I had a brand new turbo, built by evergreen turbo, blow up after 6 months of 18#. If you want it to last turn it down to 16# or get a T3/T4 Garret. Quote Selected
Cougar LS Turbo psi question.. Reply #7 – February 21, 2012, 11:22:21 PM Try to find a airesearch/garrett t3 turbo. They are nice. I agree with Sleeper T-bird 87. head studs and that gasket are a must if you want more boost. Quote Selected
