351 swap efi intake height?

All right gentlemen I need for you guys to identify this intake.

When that is done I can figure out how much room I have.

I really want to run a EFI 351 spyder intake with elbow.  It will be simpler for my setup and look  cool.  With the turbo I dont have to worry about the long intake.  I really need about 11" from the top of the block.  I dont like cowl hoods.

This is a picture of one of the only guys on this site that has done the efi 351 swap.  It looks like a Ford GT40 upper with im sure a gt40 351 lower.

XX

Thanks,

Travis

It is.  You won't be able to run the spyder intake and elbow without serious modification to the engine mounts and/or intake itself and stay under the stock hood.

Well I looked up the gt40 overall intake height.  It appears to be 10.5"

Looks like the spyder efi 351w intake is 5.68" tall or ebay knock off equivalent.

the elbow 5.00" tall.

So it should fit if a gt40 is 10.5" tall and fits....

That is a .1" difference.  I guess it should fit if a 351w fits under the hood of the 88 XR7.
I have read that it wont work on a 351w swapped foxbody mustang unless you use drop motor mounts.  Must be additional 1" or so on our fox tbird/cougar.
With my 86 XR7 I can only use stock 5.0 mounts or chuck.  I will be using chucks.
Well that is my logic....

I have only found 2 guys on this board that have done the efi 351w swap on our fox tbird cougar...so not lots of info.  Hence the post.

Thanks,

Travis

Yeah it's on the back burner right now,  I just got extremely busy with work and school.  I'm either gonna take a week vacation and just finish everything up and have some fun with it.  I might drop it off at my buddy's shop and finish it up there, with the lift we could do everything in one night.  I'll have to bring it to him anyway to get the alignment and inspection done anyway.

Either way there's not much to do to get it on the road
