The Zombies are coming!!!(model car build!!)

I decided to take on a model car project of a Zombie apocalypses escape vehicle.  started as a spare body of an 80's ford dewly. its not near done, but its enough to give you and idea.

still need to do the cattle guard (er um Zombie guard), and the armor for the drivers window.  Also was about to start weathering it, but my rusting agent is all dried up, so that's on hold till the weekend when I can get more.  Also working on a real world-like weapon for the truck.  and having some problems with the drive train too, I want to put a spoogemins 5.9l in it.  Unfortunately can't find one so its going to have to be a scratch build.:pat:

the drum in the back is for fuel, I figure in a zombie infested world there wont be 7-11's open on every corner.  The plan is when ever you come to an area with a fuel source get as much as possible and get out.

I wanted to go with a junkyard modified look, not your ordinary jacked up truck.  hence the crude nature of the lift.

the drum drains down to the stock fuel tank, figured more fuel the better.  Also there will be a motor and a pair of batteries attached to the home made chain pull, still working on those.  Probably also going to move the chain to the middle of the bed.

lighting seemed important for this one.  there will be still more lights when the cattle guard goes on.

I'll keep updating as it comes together, this has honestly been one of the most fun builds I've done.  You can really let your mind go and come up with some crazy things.  And who doesn't like thinking about Z day?

That is really cool! I wish I had the time to do something like this. I have several models half assembled because I don't have time anymore to work on them.

Well I got some work done today.  ruffed out the cattle guard, needs some work but I'm starting to like it.

I finished the drivers side window armor.
I also have been working on a double barrel shot gun, its sticking out the passenger side door.

I moved the chain wench to the center of the bed, It makes more sense there.  I'm going to mount spot lights on the cattle guard.

I really want to put some spikes on it, but if I mount spikes, that will stick things to the truck, rendering the bull dozier effect of the guard useless.  Maybe I can hinge a bar with a strip of spikes on it.  It can stay up under normal travel conditions, but when there are zombies around drop the spikes and CHARGE!

and the work goes on......
